Scribbles

Jessie here! How 'bout I tell you a little bit about my writing? There are the four main books I'm working on, but there are so many more just sitting around on my computer...

This book has been trying to worm its way out of my head for months. I have almost everything planned out, but it's hard to get things written down and put into sentences that actually make sense. Fabricate

Risa Prewitt isn't a typical girl. In fact, she lives her life trying to stay outside of the 'normal' category. Her father died in a plane crash when she was nine years old, her mother tried to do the best she could, even when it wasn't enough. But Risa's dreams have always been plagued with similar nightmares and the same boy that has been in her dreams as far back as she could remember.

But even through the abnormality she tries to achieve, she's still just a seventeen year old home schooled girl who's trying to make life work. So when her mother is kidnapped and the abductor wants something other than money, how can Risa do anything besides save the only family she has left.

The only person who can know about it is Derrick, the boy from her dreams that seems to always find her when she's in trouble. And he's the one she can't trust with anything but her dreams.

So how will it affect her when Risa finds out she's also fallen for the strange dream boy?

First of all, thank you Kristin for the gorgeous cover for The Blind Leading. This one I truly can't wait to write because I'm not even entirely sure how I'm going to finish it!

They say that every story has two sides. That there are two different ways of looking at things. Holly’s has six sides, but only two matter: Holly's and the person's who took away her sight.
Holly Brooks was in an 'accident' in her freshman year of high school. An accident that took away her sight. After living at a blind rehabilitaion center for a year, starting her junior year of high school could be difficult, especially when she finds out who was the one truly responsible for taking her sight - was it Jonathan, her ex-boyfriend, who wanted to get back at Holly for dumping him? Maybe Hunter, the mysterious badboy who was nowhere to be found at the party on that fateful night? Possibly Lydia, who wanted Holly gone for 'stealing' the Spring Queen crown from her. Zane, the quarterback who was trying to win Holly's affection by any means necessary? Or even Paige, Holly's old best friend, who wanted nothing more than to be as popular as Holly?
Pieces of the story slowly come together as Holly comes back to Riverside. She knows who it was that hurt her forever, but she refuses to tell anyone. She wants them to finally feel so guilty that they turn themselves in. She wants them to feel the pain she felt for over a year. She wants them to suffer.
But who really took Holly's sight? Could one of them be covering for the others? Could they all be lying about what happened that night? Which one will crack first under the pressure? And which one will feel the non-existent gaze that Holly holds on them first?
Only Holly knows...

Salem is one of my latest ideas. At the moment, it has no official pitch, just one that was made up in less than five minutes.

A promo from Compound Fracture, another my of latest ideas. I'm still trying to figure out which cover I love the most, but I love this promo so much.

When Elena is born, she is taken from her mother to the mysterious Compound to be raised and trained as a weapon of mass destruction for the Empire. At fifteen and being called Estelle rather than Elena, she's never ventured out of the walls people have told her were keeping her safe from the outside world. And she believes them.
Until she meets her brother for the first time.
He's taken prisoner when he tried to steal food for his parents, or so he makes people believe. In reality, he's trying to break his sister out of the Compound, something that can only be done from the inside. If Estelle believes what Colton tells her is true and they succeed, they will run from the Empire forever.
Once you've seen what the world is really like, reality and fiction mix together to form the truth. And this has been the biggest lie of all.
The glass over her eyes is cracking. The shield between the two worlds will crumble. Only one place is the truth. Only one place can accept Estelle for who she really is. But only one place can welcome Elena home.

This is Jessica! My summaries, with a bit of a tweak, end up being the pitches of my stories, so don't worry about the short and sweetness of them. You aren't missing out on information. Well, not that much. Also, the journey each of these stories is different so I might not post the same amount or the same type of information as another. Now, here is the top stories recieving my attention:

Time to Fight is the one I put the most effort into writing. My dear friend Alexandra conjured up the cover for me and I couldn't be more delighted with the outcome. I will do anything to see this, my precious baby, be published one day.

The people of Andova have always looked to the powers of Mother Nature and have bent the elements to their will for years. Kyra, a promising fire bender, was on her way to becoming a Fighter for her town. But an ominous prophecy forces Kyra to go into hiding. As she takes refuge in the temple of the very priestess who condemned her, she shall learn to accept her newfound fate... to time travel? Kyra will strive to protect Andova. but what about the prophecy? Amongst all her battles, she must fight the pull of the feelings that could very well lead to the doom of all.

Next up is what I would call my 'entertainment' story. Writing the frustrating woes of this character never ceases to be fun, so this one has gone quite far compared to my other projects, excluding my main one. Perhaps this pitch of Rising Dawn will help you understand why I get such a kick out of writing this:

Magic: The one thing I've been determined to learn about.

Why? Because I'm a girl with magical blood who doesn't know a thing about magic, that's why. And to make things intere- no, make that annoying, Farrow proclaims himself my guide, but I think his real goal is to drive me insane. As if things weren't difficult already, I end up hearing about a plot to kill an entire race. But wait. Oh just wait. It gets better. I get to find out about- Never mind, I'd rather not think about it. I'm pissed off enough.

But you know what? To hell with all of it. I'm going to learn everything there is to know about
magic.

And I won't be stopped.

I fell in love with a picture with roses, piano keys, and a violin that I saw while surfing the world wide web so then this story was born. I have chosen The Song of Bloodlust to hopefully be my main August project. I'm excited to see where this one will go.

Elaine Rashim is a princess as well as an in-training priestess with many willing to give up their lives to ensure her safety. Her only solace in her secluded, royal life had always been her music. But after a night touched by music and an attempted abduction, the truth behind her watchful guards is revealed. When Elaine's hand become stained with blood, to her horror, her body and soul hunger for more. She escapes her home in search of a way to cage the darkness lurking within, but the cost of keeping the darkness at bay could be even more deadly. While fighting her desires for blood and for a love too clouded by the lust within, even her music is a dangerous ally for the bloodlust is singing her name, playing a melody too alluring to be ignored.

Whose song will be the one to shine? Elaine's song? Or the song of the bloodlust?

Now, I have had this plot bunny for quite some time, but recently, the plot bunny started screaming for my attention and so now I fear I will not be able to hold out from it's cuteness for much longer. Meet The Proposal, a stubborn story that wants its name to be heard.

Nine chances.
That is how many times she is given to try to tip the scale to her favor.

Two choices.
It is up to her to decide what is the right path.

One fate.
No matter the course, death has been there to greet her at the door.

She has heard the secrets which can help save her, but there is a problem:
She can't remember them, so now her only chance at changing her fate depends on making the right
choice on who to trust.

The proposal is here again for the eighth time. What will be her choice? And will it be her last?
